Book 1: Gary Colson's Induction into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame
Former VSC Basketball Coach Gary Colson was inducted into the GA Sports hall of Fame in 2020. A bound book commemorating the event. 2 copies

The men’s Basketball Team, first the Rebels and then the Blazers after 1972, was formed and played its first season in 1959 with coach Gary Colson (see Baseball 16/2/2). In 1968, coach Jimmy Melvin took over and in 1971 James Dominey, current Blazer’s coach, got the job. The Men’s Basketball Collection contains, schedules, promotional materials, annual programs, clippings and correspondence. The summer basketball camp is also documented.
Box 3: VSC Cheerleader Jacket, 1953 - 1955
VSC letter jacket donated by Frances Garbutt Maughon. Ms. Maughon (then Garbutt) was on VSC's first Cheerleading squad in the 1953/54 season. The squad cheered on VSC's first basketball team.
Also included is a folder containing yearbook photos of the Cheerleders and the Basketball team (Frances Garbutt is identified in the photos), and a letter written by Ms. Maughon at the age of 88 describing her time at VSC..
